Technology
I guess you could say Technology has always been my main interest. I enjoy just about everything
from home A/V systems to writing software and embedded operating systems to racing with friends online.
I try to write about some of the technology related things I am interested in here when I have spare time. I am also a supporter of Open Source Software and have donated to SourceForge and several other open source projects/websites I have used. I think that there is a lot of promise in the near future with an open source desktop like GNU/Linux entering the desktop market. The open source office project OpenOffice.org is showing a lot of promise and is already liked by many of my colleagues more than Microsoft Office. The Mozilla Foundation's open source browser Firefox has also gotten much press and is my browser of choice on almost every computer I use. It is fast, secure, neatly extensible and not an integral part of the operating system it is being used on. Its email package Thunderbird I find equally useful with its beautiful integration of RSS feeds, news groups, spam filtering and account management.
